"In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel . . ." (Philippians 1:4-5)

The Missions Committee at Southbay exists to mobilize, encourage, and challenge our congregation's involvement in global and local missions work. We encourage people to utilize their God-given gifts to serve God. We equip God's people through the Perspective of World Mission's Course. We send God's people and God's resources to serve and empower our national partners in Asia, both short-term and long term. Toward these ends, the Missions Committee is responsible:

  • To engage every member in the purpose of the Church to fulfill the Great Commission.
  • To educate every member of his/her partnership in this purpose.
  • To encourage every member to be involved in Missions by at least one of the following ways:

1. Praying regularly for various peoples of the world to come to a saving grace of Jesus.

2. Learning about God’s global plan for all people and present work in the world.

3. Welcoming people who come to the United States from other nations.

4. Mobilizing self and others to participate in God’s commission to make disciples of all nations.

5. Sending workers into the harvest by partnering with, praying for, and sharing resources with them.

6. Going on a Missions Team project to personally engage in bringing the Gospel to those who have yet to respond to Jesus.
